In a recent interview with TASS, Miguel Angel Moratinos, the UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the UN Alliance of Civilizations, highlighted Russia's potential role in revitalizing the Alliance. He noted that there remains significant opportunity for diplomacy and mutual understanding, which the Alliance can facilitate in shaping future international governance. Moratinos emphasized the importance of Russia's involvement, stating, "we need Russia to be part of this new momentum." The Alliance of Civilizations serves as a platform for equal representation, allowing member states to express their views while maintaining their cultural identities. Moratinos pointed out that recent global forums, held in locations such as Fez, Cascais, and Riyadh, saw participation from approximately 110-104 member states, with 70-80 actively supporting the Alliance's objectives. He reiterated the need for respect among diverse cultures and the creation of a collaborative environment where solidarity and harmony can thrive.
