A workshop titled “Scaling AgriPV in Odisha for Climate-Resilient Growth” was convened in Bhubaneswar, featuring discussions among policymakers, energy experts, and agricultural representatives. Inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, the event highlighted several significant initiatives aimed at enhancing agrivoltaics in the state. Notable announcements included the release of the report “Empowering Farmers through AgriPV” by GRIDCO Ltd. and the Vasudha Foundation, along with the launch of the Odisha State Energy Action Plan (OSEAP) web platform designed for long-term energy planning. Additionally, two 150-metre wind resource assessment masts will be erected in Subarnapur and Ganjam districts, and agreements were signed for a 125 MW / 500 MWh battery energy storage system across six substations. Singh Deo articulated that AgriPV could significantly boost farmers' incomes while facilitating Odisha's clean energy transition, aligning with the state's vision for climate-resilient development. The workshop concluded with in-depth discussions on necessary policy frameworks, financing models, and strategies to effectively implement and scale up AgriPV initiatives throughout Odisha.
