Parent Ashley Wilson highlighted the importance of a name that represents all families, stating, 'When we think about names, a name is what represents us and who we are.' Another parent, Leidy Castillo, echoed this sentiment, suggesting that the name should better fit the school's identity rather than the controversial figure it currently honors. The renaming committee will meet on June 2 and 4, with additional meetings possible if needed. Community members interested in participating or submitting name suggestions must send a letter of interest to KUSD by May 20.
