HP India has successfully built resilient supply chains to cope with the ongoing memory chip shortage, as stated by managing director Ipsita Dasgupta. The company has advised customers to place their orders early to mitigate the impact of rising device costs due to the shortage. In conjunction with this, HP India has launched the Omnipad tablet, catering to mobile-first users looking to transition to more productive devices such as laptops and high-end personal computers (PCs). Dasgupta highlighted that PC and laptop penetration in India remains low at around 20%, compared to nearly 90% in developed economies. She also noted the growing demand for AI-powered PCs, asserting that future devices will need to pivot towards artificial intelligence to meet user demands. Furthermore, she pointed out that India's need for hybrid solutions is crucial, as centralized data centers are costly and environmentally taxing.
