The MV Hondius, a cruise ship operated by Oceanwide Expeditions, has been cleared to resume sailing after a hantavirus outbreak that led to 13 confirmed cases and three deaths. The outbreak prompted a global health alert earlier this month, with passengers falling ill after a voyage that began on April 6. The Dutch public health agency has confirmed that the ship is now safe for travel following extensive disinfection procedures. Passengers, including 22 Britons, were quarantined at Arrowe Park Hospital in Merseyside, with 16 still hospitalized for testing. The ship's departure from Rotterdam was initially delayed for additional cleaning, but authorities have now declared that there are no longer any obstacles to its return to service. Oceanwide Expeditions has announced that all voyages scheduled from June 13 onwards will proceed as planned, ensuring no further disruptions to the sailing schedule.
