The murder of 29-year-old Yashinder Kaur, a singer from Ludhiana, has led to the arrest of three suspects: Karamjit Singh, Ravinder Singh, and Pritam Singh. The police reported that Kaur went missing on May 13, 2023, after leaving her home to buy groceries. Her disappearance prompted a murder investigation that began on May 15 after her body was discovered in Neelon Canal. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskiranjit Singh Teja, the main accused, Sukhwinder Singh, fled to Canada via Nepal on the same day Kaur was killed. Singh allegedly had a relationship with Kaur and was pressuring her to marry him despite being married. When she refused, he reportedly shot her and disposed of her body. The police recovered the murder weapon, the victim's body, and the vehicle used in the crime from the canal. The investigation has now been classified under Section 302, which deals with murder, following the recovery of evidence linking the suspects to the crime.
