The Detroit Tigers have announced that pitcher Casey Mize and infielder Javier Baez have been placed on the injured list following injuries sustained during a recent game against the Atlanta Braves. Mize, who is on the 15-day injured list, suffered a right adductor strain after experiencing tightness in his groin while fielding a grounder. He had previously been an All-Star in 2025, finishing that season with a 14-6 record and a 3.86 ERA. This season, Mize has a 2-2 record with a 2.90 ERA in six starts. Meanwhile, Baez is on the 10-day injured list due to a right ankle sprain he suffered while attempting to beat a throw to first base. He was carted off the field after his right foot folded awkwardly beneath him. Despite receiving treatment, Baez will also need time to recover. To fill their roster, the Tigers have recalled left-hander Enmanuel DeJesus and infielder Jace Jung from Triple-A Toledo.
