Airtel Africa showcased impressive financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, with a profit after tax soaring 147.4% to $813 million, compared to $328 million the previous year. Revenue also saw a substantial increase of 29.5%, reaching $6.41 billion. The company's customer base grew to 183.5 million, with data customers increasing by 14.8% to 84.2 million. Smartphone penetration improved to 49.5%, while average data usage per customer rose to 8.9 GB per month. Mobile money services were a significant growth driver, with users increasing by 21.3% to 54.1 million. CEO Sunil Taldar highlighted the role of digital technologies and AI in driving growth. The company also expanded its infrastructure, rolling out over 3,250 new sites and extending its fibre network by 3,200 kilometres. A final dividend of 4.26 cents per share was recommended, totaling 7.1 cents for the fiscal year, a 9.2% increase year-on-year.
