Shares of Canara Bank, a state-run lender in India, increased by 2% to reach ₹132 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) after the bank announced its Q4 FY26 results. The bank reported a consolidated net profit of ₹4,506 crore, which marked a 10% decline from ₹5,002 crore in the same quarter last year. However, net interest income (NII) rose by 4% year-on-year to ₹9,808 crore. On a sequential basis, the profit after tax fell by 13% from ₹5,155 crore in Q3 FY26. For the full financial year, Canara Bank's net profit increased by 13% year-on-year to ₹19,187 crore. The bank's global business rose by 12.11% to ₹28,06,226 crore, with global deposits growing by 9.71% to ₹15,68,678 crore and gross global advances increasing by 15.30% to ₹12,37,548 crore. Morgan Stanley has kept its 'Underweight' rating with a target price of ₹103, citing concerns over rising gross slippages. In contrast, Motilal Oswal has revised its target price to ₹160 from ₹175, maintaining a 'Buy' rating, while Elara Capital upgraded its rating to 'Accumulate' with a target price of ₹140.
