The Prime Minister Internship Scheme, recently introduced by the Government of India, aims to empower youth aged 18 to 25 by offering them a monthly stipend of ₹9,000 and a one-time joining grant of ₹6,000. This initiative is designed to provide hands-on industry experience, bridging the gap between academic learning and practical exposure. The scheme is inclusive, welcoming candidates from diverse educational backgrounds, including those who have completed Class 10, Class 12, ITI certification, diploma courses, undergraduate degrees, and postgraduate degrees. It will be implemented across 60 high-priority districts, identified to promote skill development and employment generation. By focusing on these regions, the scheme seeks to unlock local talent and create a more balanced workforce. This initiative aligns with the government's broader vision of enhancing employability and preparing India's youth for future career opportunities.
