The Ontario provincial government has announced a significant investment of $50,000 for the Carrousel of the Nations festival, which will take place in June 2026. This funding will be distributed as $20,000 through Experience Ontario and $30,000 from the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund. The investment aims to enhance the festival's marketing and programming, ultimately attracting more visitors and supporting local businesses in Windsor and Essex. Andrew Dowie, Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Windsor-Tecumseh, expressed his enthusiasm for the funding, noting that this is the first time the festival has received support from Experience Ontario. He highlighted the festival's distinctiveness, stating that it is unparalleled in Ontario and possibly even across Canada. The Carrousel of the Nations, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, features 37 cultural villages representing various cultures, including Greek, Caribbean, Polish, Mexican, and Middle Eastern. The festival has also been recognized as a Top Festival and Event in Ontario by Attractions Ontario for the past three years. The 2026 festival is set to run from June 12-14 and June 19-21.
