K. Palaniswami, the leader of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party, achieved a remarkable victory in the Edappadi assembly constituency located in Salem district, Tamil Nadu. He won by a record margin of 98,110 votes, securing a total of 148,933 votes. He defeated his closest competitor, independent candidate Premkumar K, who received 50,823 votes, and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate Kasi C, who garnered 44,011 votes.
