On Sunday, the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), in collaboration with Fempreneurs Rising Star, honored 42 remarkable women at the 'Mompreneurs – Matri Shakti Samman 2026' event held at Haryana Lok Bhavan in Chandigarh. This ceremony recognized women who have excelled in various fields, including entrepreneurship, arts, media, sports, education, healthcare, and social service, all while balancing their responsibilities as mothers and community leaders. Among the distinguished awardees were Padma Shri recipients such as Nirmal Rishi, Malini Awasthi, and Shovana Narayan, alongside Arjuna awardee Geeta Phogat and renowned journalist Rubika Liyaquat. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasized the importance of acknowledging women's contributions to society, stating that the PHDCCI has fulfilled a vital role in this regard. Karan Gilhotra, chair of PHDCCI’s Punjab State Chapter, highlighted the platform's commitment to celebrating women who have overcome challenges and made significant impacts in their respective domains. The event also saw the presence of Haryana Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh, further underscoring the significance of recognizing women's achievements in building a self-reliant India.
