Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a substantial budget of ₹1,252 crore for the preparations leading up to the Kumbh Mela 2027. This funding aims to bolster infrastructure, enhance disaster management systems, and improve drinking water supply and flood protection measures. Additionally, ₹115 crore has been allocated for the redevelopment of Triveni Ghat as part of the Rishikesh Ganga Corridor Project, while ₹69.06 crore will be used for the development of North Har Ki Pauri under the Haridwar Ganga Corridor Project. Furthermore, ₹6 crore has been set aside for upgrading the water supply scheme in Haridwar and another ₹6 crore for road repairs in the Bahadrabad block. The CM expressed confidence in the state's readiness for the upcoming Adi Kailash Yatra, which has seen a significant increase in visitors since the Prime Minister's visit in 2023. Last year, over 600,000 devotees visited Jageshwar Dham, and the number of visitors to Adi Kailash surged to over 40,000.
