Ranveer Singh, a prominent Indian actor, faced backlash after a mimicry incident at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 closing ceremony, where he imitated a scene from the film *Kantara*. Following this, an FIR was filed against him in the Karnataka High Court. Recently, the court quashed the FIR, acknowledging that his actions hurt religious and cultural sentiments. As part of the resolution, the court ordered Ranveer to visit the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru, Karnataka, within four weeks. Although he was absent during the proceedings due to security concerns, his lawyer, Sajan Poovayya, submitted an unconditional apology affidavit on his behalf. In an Instagram post, Ranveer clarified that his intention was to celebrate Rishab Shetty's performance in *Kantara* and expressed his respect for cultural traditions, apologizing to anyone he may have offended.
