IG Group has announced a partnership with Bitpanda to enhance cryptocurrency trading services across Europe. This comes after IG's recent sale of its futures exchange, Small Exchange, to Kraken as part of a strategic collaboration. Bitpanda is actively developing Vision Chain, an Ethereum layer-2 solution aimed at enabling European banks and fintechs to issue and trade tokenized stocks, bonds, and funds while complying with the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) and Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II) regulations. Additionally, Bitpanda has diversified its platform by adding support for thousands of equities and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), marking its transition towards becoming a comprehensive financial platform. The company is also eyeing a potential public listing this year.
