In the ongoing $500,000 Thailand Open Super 500 tournament held in Bangkok, Indian badminton stars PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen have successfully advanced to the quarterfinals. Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medallist and seeded sixth, showcased her skills by defeating Denmark's Amalie Schulz with a score of 21-13, 21-15 in just 28 minutes. Meanwhile, Sen, the seventh seed, triumphed over China's Zhu Xuan Chen, winning 21-12, 21-13 in 39 minutes. Sindhu's next challenge will be against Japan's Akane Yamaguchi, the top seed and world No. 3. Additionally, the men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, seeded first, also progressed after beating the Malaysian duo of Bryan Jeremy Goonting and Muhammad Haikal 21-12, 21-19 in 44 minutes. However, young player Devika Sihag faced disappointment as she was eliminated by Thailand's Pitchamon Opatniputh with a score of 21-23, 11-21. Later, former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth is set to compete against Chinese Taipei’s Su Li Yang.
