An FIR has been lodged against Kunal Ghosh (Trinamool Congress leader) and Garga Chatterjee (General Secretary of Bangla Pokkho) for allegedly circulating a forged document related to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal. The complaint, filed by Sashi Agnihotri at the Cyber Crime Police Station on April 20, claims that the document was created to mislead voters and damage the BJP's reputation during the ongoing election campaign. The FIR cites violations of the Information Technology Act, 2000, including computer-related offences and identity theft. The misleading content was reportedly shared from Ghosh's account on social media platform X and amplified by Chatterjee on Facebook. The police are investigating the incident, which occurred between 10:30 AM and 4:50 PM on the same day. Ghosh is contesting from the Beleghata Assembly constituency in the upcoming elections, with polling scheduled to take place in two phases, culminating in vote counting on May 4.
