The Mandaue City government in Cebu has allocated nearly ₱100 million for various beautification projects aimed at enhancing public spaces and creating more open areas for its residents. The budget includes ₱65 million for Pajara Park, which will be developed beneath the Marcelo Fernan Bridge in Barangay Umapad, ₱14 million for Ouano Avenue, and ₱16 million for UN Avenue. City Administrator Atty. Gonzalo 'Sally' Malig-on Jr. stated that these initiatives are part of Mayor Thadeo 'Jonkie' Ouano's efforts to promote a cleaner, greener, and more livable city. Work on Ouano Avenue has already commenced, focusing on the installation of streetlights and landscaping improvements. Plans for Pajara Park include a playground, a senior citizens' plaza, exercise areas, and possibly a skating rink. The aim is to create inclusive and accessible spaces for community engagement and wellness, transforming Mandaue into a vibrant urban environment. Construction for Pajara Park is anticipated to begin around August or September, subject to final design approvals.
