The Punjab government has executed a reshuffle involving six IAS officers, prominently featuring Girish Dayalan, who has been appointed as the special secretary of the prisons department. This transfer comes shortly after Dayalan raised concerns regarding quality issues in ongoing tenders related to the supplementary nutrition programme, which supplies essential food items to anganwadis. Dayalan, who previously served as the managing director of MARKFED, described the transfer as routine, citing personal health issues as a reason for seeking a less demanding role. Alongside Dayalan, Sanyam Aggarwal has been named the new registrar of cooperative societies and managing director of the Punjab State Cooperative Bank. Vishesh Sarangal will take on the role of MARKFED MD while continuing his duties in good governance and IT. Additionally, Manvesh Singh Sidhu has been appointed as the MD of the Punjab Infrastructure Development Board, and Sakshi Sawhney has been designated as special secretary for health and family welfare.
