VD Satheesan is set to take the oath of office as Chief Minister of Kerala on Monday morning, officially launching the new United Democratic Front (UDF) government. The ceremony will take place at Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, starting at 10 am, with prominent leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and several state Chief Ministers expected to attend. As discussions over the cabinet formation continue, a 21-member cabinet is anticipated, with the Congress party expected to secure 11 ministerial positions, including the Chief Minister's role. Key figures in consideration for cabinet roles include Ramesh Chennithala and Sunny Joseph, among others. The Indian Union Muslim League, a coalition partner, is likely to receive five ministerial positions. AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal has expressed confidence in the new government’s ability to meet public expectations and maintain unity among diverse communities in Kerala.
