Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced that the price of the MC-21 aircraft is expected to drop to around 7.4 billion rubles ($100.9 million) by 2030. This reduction will be achieved through increased production volumes and efforts to lower manufacturing costs. Initially, the production cost of the aircraft will be higher than the market price due to modifications and the import substitution process, with state subsidies planned to offset this difference for airlines. Manturov emphasized that the first deliveries will depend on calculating the price and compensating the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) for the initial cost discrepancies. An independent audit has deemed the future price as fair and commercially viable. Furthermore, the MC-21 is designed to replace older models in the Russian fleet and provide an alternative to foreign aircraft. Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov stated that certification for the MC-21 is anticipated to be completed by the first quarter of 2027, paving the way for serial production.
