In the wake of the recent Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the Viduthalai Chiruthagal Katchi (VCK) party is set to announce its decision regarding support for the Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamath (TVK) on Saturday. VCK founder Thol Thirumavalavan stated that the party's high-level committee will convene via video conferencing to deliberate on the current political crisis. TVK emerged as the single largest party in the elections, winning 108 seats but falling short of the 118-seat majority required in the 234-member Assembly. Thirumavalavan dismissed claims of delay in the VCK's decision-making process, asserting the importance of consulting party members. He refrained from commenting on hypothetical scenarios regarding support for an AIADMK-led initiative. The VCK is part of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, although the Congress party has broken ties with the DMK to support TVK. The outcome of the VCK's decision could significantly impact the formation of the government in Tamil Nadu.
