A post on the Blind app claimed that these layoffs involved freshers, which sparked significant discussion online. However, Zoho has categorically denied these claims, asserting that the post conflates its internship program with full-time employment. Mohammed Sohail, Associate Director of Talent Acquisition at Zoho, clarified that no full-time employees were laid off, and described the interns' situation as distinct from employment. He emphasized that over 30% of the interns from the 2026 cohort have either received offers or are in the process of evaluation for full-time roles. Zoho has a longstanding policy of avoiding layoffs, which it maintained even during the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent AI boom. The company continues to hire freshers and assures that interns who excel will have opportunities for full-time positions.
