On Wednesday, a private bus collided with a van on National Highway 48 in Sabarkantha district, Gujarat, leading to the death of six women and injuries to eight others. The van was transporting women from Modasa in Aravalli district, who were part of a catering team heading to a function in Hunj village, Himmatnagar. The bus struck the van from behind, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police A K Patel. Among the injured, two women are reported to be in critical condition and have been admitted to Himmatnagar civil hospital. The deceased's bodies have been sent for postmortem at a government hospital.
