On Friday, a mosque and madrassa located on government land in Mubarakpur Band village, Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh, were demolished by local authorities using bulldozers and JCBs. This land was officially recorded for use as a playground and compost pits. District Magistrate Rajendra Pensiya and Superintendent of Police Krishan Kumar oversaw the operation. Initially, villagers were asked to dismantle the structures themselves, but after their failure to do so, they requested administrative assistance. Naib tehsildar Bablu Kumar confirmed the classification of the land and stated that this demolition is part of a larger initiative to clear illegal encroachments throughout the district. Over the past six months, approximately 125 hectares of encroached land have been reclaimed, which will be utilized for various government schemes.
