Haryana's Transport Minister Anil Vij has acknowledged reports of significant irregularities in vehicle registrations across all four Sub-Divisional offices in Ambala district. He has ordered a comprehensive investigation by the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, suspecting that similar issues may exist in other regions of Haryana. Reports indicate that vehicle registrations were improperly processed through Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) offices using incomplete addresses from Tamil Nadu and other states. In addition to addressing vehicle registration issues, Vij has mandated that all trucks transporting sand and other loose materials must be covered appropriately to prevent pollution and ensure safety. Violators will face penalties under the Motor Vehicles Act. Furthermore, he has stressed the importance of adhering to the Stage Carriage Scheme-2016, which requires permit holders to provide travel facilities to students and concession pass holders without government subsidies. Vij has also issued directives to prevent unauthorized heavy vehicle entry into congested city areas, highlighting the resulting traffic issues and safety risks.
