The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that it will nominate its representatives to the International Cricket Council (ICC) Board and the ICC Business Corporation (IBC) Board after its upcoming elections, scheduled to conclude on June 7, 2023. An ICC delegation is expected to visit Bangladesh to engage with stakeholders involved in the election process. Earlier this month, the BCB formed a three-member Election Commission, led by Senior Advocate Ahsanul Karim, to oversee the election procedures. In a related development, the Bangladesh government has established a committee to investigate the decision to withdraw from the T20 World Cup held in India. This committee, chaired by Dr. AKM Oli Ullah, will assess the reasons behind the withdrawal and report back within 15 working days. The BCB had expressed security concerns regarding the tournament in India and sought to relocate its matches, a request that was ultimately denied by the ICC, leading to Bangladesh's replacement by Scotland in the tournament.
