On Thursday, the Rajya Sabha, India's upper house of Parliament, announced the reconstitution of its panel of vice-chairpersons, effective from April 15. The new panel includes Dinesh Sharma, S Phangnon Konyak, and Ghanshyam Tiwari from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP); Phulo Devi Netam from the Indian National Congress; M. Thambidurai from the AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam); and Sasmit Patra from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). These vice-chairpersons will preside over the House in the absence of both the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman, exercising similar powers to maintain order and regulate debate.
