Kamal Haasan, the acclaimed actor and politician, expressed his congratulations to Thalapathy Vijay following his successful trust vote as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Speaking to the media in Chennai, Haasan highlighted the importance of Vijay's first decision to close 717 liquor shops located near educational institutions and places of worship. This move, which has been a long-discussed issue, was welcomed by Haasan as a significant step towards responsible governance. He noted that Vijay should not only be viewed as a film star but also as a leader with substantial responsibilities. The Tamil Nadu Victory League (TVK) government, led by Vijay, comfortably won the trust vote with support from 25 rebel MLAs from the AIADMK party, amidst a walkout by the DMK and allegations of horse-trading, which were dismissed by Vijay. Haasan reiterated his support for Vijay's leadership and expressed hope for the state's progress under his governance.
