Yograj Singh, a former cricketer and actor, is facing legal trouble following an FIR filed against him in Chandigarh for alleged anti-women remarks made in his recent web series, 'Lukkhe'. The complaint, lodged on May 14 by advocates Ujjwal Bhasin and Jatin Verma, claims that certain dialogues from a viral scene in the series are offensive to working women and promote misogynistic attitudes. In response, Singh has applied for anticipatory bail, arguing that his character's dialogues are part of a fictional narrative and that he is bound by contractual obligations. The court has issued notices to the state, requiring a response by May 20. The controversial scene features Singh's character making derogatory remarks about a female police officer, stating that a woman's place is “at the stove during the day and for intimacy at night.” This has drawn significant backlash online. Additionally, this is not the first controversy for Singh; he has previously made headlines for his comments regarding cricketer MS Dhoni and other incidents. 'Lukkhe', which premiered on Prime Video on May 8, also faced criticism from some members of the Sikh community over character names.
