The Ganga Expressway, recently launched in Uttar Pradesh, is garnering attention for its toll charges, which range from ₹1,500 to ₹1,800 for a one-way trip between Meerut and Prayagraj. The toll is calculated at ₹2.55 per kilometre across its 594 km stretch. Although this rate is not the highest in the state, the total toll is significant due to the expressway's length. For comparison, the Yamuna Expressway has a slightly higher per-kilometre toll, while the Agra–Lucknow and Purvanchal expressways are in a similar or lower range. The Ganga Expressway aims to reduce travel time from approximately 11-13 hours to about 6-7 hours, linking 12 districts and improving access for commuters, particularly from the National Capital Region (NCR) heading towards Prayagraj. Ultimately, the question remains: how much is the time saved worth for highway users?
