On Sunday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the 'State-Level Haj Kit Distribution and Felicitation Ceremony' organized by the Chhattisgarh State Haj Committee in Raipur. The event, held at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, aimed to equip Hajj pilgrims with necessary kits before their pilgrimage. Chief Imam Dr. Umer Ahmed Ilyasi commended the arrangements made by both the Uttar Pradesh and central governments, highlighting the innovative use of AI in facilitating the Hajj experience for pilgrims. He noted that this year, 17,000 pilgrims are set to depart from Uttar Pradesh. The Hajj pilgrimage is a significant religious obligation in Islam, alongside four other pillars. The first group of pilgrims for Hajj 2026 left from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on April 18, marking the start of the pilgrimage season from India.
