Tata Mutual Fund has launched the Titanium Equity Long‐Short Fund, marking its second Specialized Investment Fund (SIF). This fund is designed for investors with a high-risk appetite, requiring a minimum investment of ₹10 lakh (approximately $12,000 USD). The fund aims to achieve medium-to-long-term capital appreciation by dynamically managing equity exposure between -25% and 100%, depending on market conditions. It maintains a minimum gross allocation of 80% to listed equities and can hedge its exposure through derivatives. The fund seeks to capitalize on both rising and falling stock markets, allowing for unhedged short positions of up to 25% of the portfolio value. The Chief Business Officer of Tata Asset Management, Anand Vardarajan, highlighted the fund's flexibility to adapt to market phases, while Fund Manager Suraj Nanda emphasized its focus on fundamental stock selection and disciplined risk management. The fund is benchmarked to the Nifty 500 Total Return Index (TRI), reflecting its broad equity universe.
