In anticipation of increased passenger traffic during Bakrid and the extended weekend, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporations (TNSTC) will operate thousands of special buses from Tuesday through Sunday. The initiative aims to facilitate travel from Chennai and other major cities to various destinations across Tamil Nadu and neighboring states. On Tuesday, 475 special buses will be deployed, with this number rising to 845 on Wednesday. Additional services include 300 special buses from cities like Madurai and Coimbatore. For the return journey on May 31, 1,085 special buses will be available, particularly towards Chennai and Bengaluru, depending on passenger demand. Advance bookings have already surpassed 100,000, with significant numbers for each day of travel. The transport department has encouraged travelers to book tickets in advance via the official TNSTC website and mobile app to avoid last-minute rushes, and officials will be present at major bus termini to oversee operations.
