In a series of thefts in Adithya Garden, a residential area near Ponneri in Tiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu, a young man impersonated an electricity board employee to steal valuables from homes. The suspect arrived on a two-wheeler and wore a helmet to hide his identity, claiming he needed to conduct inspections on air conditioners. During these inspections, he took advantage of distractions to steal mobile phones and cash from at least four houses. Residents became suspicious in some cases, prompting the suspect to flee quickly. Following these incidents, local residents filed a complaint with the Ponneri police station, which has since launched an investigation. Authorities are examining CCTV footage to identify the suspect, who is believed to have used a vehicle without a registration number. Police suspect that the individual may have connections to previous offenders in similar crimes, and efforts to apprehend him are ongoing.
