In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Srinagar Police have attached immovable properties worth approximately ₹3.5 crore belonging to two alleged drug peddlers under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. This action is part of the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, which aims to dismantle the financial networks supporting drug trafficking in the region. The properties include a double-storeyed house valued at ₹1.30 crore owned by Rahil Manzoor Malla in Hazratbal and a residential property worth ₹2.20 crore owned by Adil Rashid Gudoo in Upper Soura. Both properties are believed to have been acquired through proceeds from illegal drug activities. The police have frozen these assets, preventing any sale or transfer until legal proceedings are completed. This operation is part of a broader strategy to eliminate the narco-terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, which is reportedly supported by external elements. The police have called for public support in sharing information about drug-related activities to enhance community safety and combat substance abuse effectively.
