On Tuesday, the East District Police in New Delhi arrested two alleged mobile phone snatchers, Varun Sharma and Adil, both aged 23 and residents of Khora Colony in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The arrests followed a complaint filed on May 28 regarding a mobile phone snatching incident on Shani Bazaar Road. A detailed investigation, which included CCTV analysis and technical surveillance, led to the recovery of three stolen mobile phones and a Honda Activa scooter used in the crime. The police formed a dedicated team to analyze footage from the crime scene, which helped identify the suspects. The scooter was traced back to a printing company, and during questioning, the employee revealed that he had lent it to the accused. Both suspects confessed during interrogation, leading to the recovery of the complainant's phone and two others linked to separate theft cases. The police believe this operation has effectively addressed three criminal cases and are investigating further connections to other incidents in the city.
