Jubilant FoodWorks (JFL), India's largest food services chain, is negotiating with Inspire Brands, a $32.6 billion US-based global restaurant group, to sell the rights to operate Dunkin' in India. This discussion comes ahead of the formal termination of JFL's 15-year franchise agreement with Dunkin', which is set to expire on December 31, 2023. JFL has faced recurring losses and weak growth in the Indian market, with Dunkin' contributing just 0.61% to its revenue in the fiscal year 2024-25. As of December 2025, JFL operated only 27 Dunkin' stores in India, having closed seven stores over the past year. Inspire Brands, which acquired Dunkin' in 2020, is looking to maintain a presence in India and plans to transfer the franchise rights to a new local partner. A Dunkin' spokesperson confirmed the company's commitment to expanding in India despite the challenges.
