Local organizers have confirmed that key sports venues for the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad, India, are on track for completion by 2029. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Sports Enclave, which includes the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium and spans 335 acres, will host major events like aquatics and athletics. The cricket stadium, with a capacity of over 100,000, will be complemented by an aquatics centre capable of seating 12,000 spectators, scheduled for completion by the second quarter of 2029. Additionally, a tennis facility for 24,000 spectators and a multipurpose arena for 18,000 will be ready by the third quarter of the same year. The Gujarat Police Academy in Karai will feature an athletics stadium with a capacity of 50,000, expected to be finished by September 2028. The Academy will also include a shooting centre with indoor and outdoor ranges for 4,000 spectators, set to be completed by March 2029. The Games will feature 17 disciplines, with India including shooting and badminton, which were previously excluded from the Glasgow edition. Events celebrating the Commonwealth Games movement are also planned, including a special exhibition showcasing India's sporting achievements.
