William Shatner, at 95 years old, has not reprised his iconic role as Captain James T. Kirk since *Star Trek Generations* in 1994. His character was famously killed off in that film, and since then, Shatner has been approached multiple times to return, but those attempts have not come to fruition. Notably, he was almost featured in *Star Trek: Enterprise* as Tiberius Kirk, an evil counterpart, but the project fell through due to budget issues with the UPN network. More recently, producers of *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds* expressed their desire to have Shatner guest star in a storyline that would have revisited Kirk's past, but this also did not happen. Although Shatner did work on a short film titled *765874 - Unification*, where he provided input on Kirk's portrayal, it appears that he has likely closed the door on playing Kirk again.
