Additionally, Prashant Veer returned to the CSK lineup, playing at his domestic ground. On the other hand, LSG, already out of playoff contention, made several changes, including introducing left-arm seamer Akash Singh for his first match of the season against his former franchise. Middle-order batters Abdul Samad and Mukul Choudhary also returned to the LSG XI, while Avesh Khan was absent, allowing Mayank Yadav to make his third appearance of the season.
