Prabhdeep Singh, also known as 'Harry,' has been extradited from Baku, Azerbaijan, by the Delhi Police Special Cell in collaboration with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He was wanted in connection with a major Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) case involving the recovery of 358 kg of heroin. Singh had been absconding since 2023 and was previously affiliated with a paramilitary force when his name emerged in the drug syndicate. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Praveen Tripathi, Singh played a crucial role in managing operations for an international drug syndicate led by his cousin, Navpreet Singh, a Turkey-based kingpin. Singh acted as a liaison between Navpreet and other members of the syndicate, overseeing narcotics shipments and maintaining contact with associates involved in drug trafficking. The case originated on July 5, 2021, when Rizwan Ahmed was arrested in Delhi with 1 kg of heroin, leading to the discovery of a broader drug network. Subsequent investigations revealed significant heroin seizures from various locations. A Special Cell team traveled to Azerbaijan to facilitate Singh's extradition, and further questioning is expected to expose additional connections within the international drug network.
