A controversy has emerged regarding the NEET 2026 examination, held on May 3, after a 'guess paper' circulated among students in Sikar, Rajasthan, was found to closely match the actual exam questions. Investigators from the Rajasthan Police Special Operations Group (SOG) have launched an inquiry into the allegations of a possible paper leak. It is reported that an MBBS student from Kerala shared a questionnaire with a friend in Sikar on May 1, which was subsequently disseminated through various channels, including WhatsApp groups and coaching networks. Out of approximately 300 questions in the leaked document, around 140 to 150 were found to be identical to those in the NEET exam, raising concerns about the integrity of the examination process. The SOG has detained 13 suspects from locations including Dehradun, Sikar, and Jhunjhunu, and a career counsellor linked to a coaching center has also been arrested. The investigation aims to determine whether the document was an unusually accurate guess paper or evidence of an actual leak. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has stated that the exam was conducted under stringent security measures, including GPS-tracked transport for question papers and biometric verification of candidates. The NTA has also acknowledged receiving reports of alleged malpractice and has escalated these concerns to central agencies for further verification.
