On Saturday, Odisha unveiled the Odisha State Energy Action Plan (OSEAP) and inaugurated two wind resource assessment masts in Ganjam, marking a significant advancement in the state's renewable energy initiatives. During a stakeholders’ dialogue in Bhubaneswar, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo emphasized the importance of farmers in the state’s prosperity and how AgriPV initiatives will empower them to participate in clean energy production while maintaining agricultural activities. The state also signed agreements for a 125 MW/500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), which is projected to be one of the largest utility-scale battery storage projects in eastern India, with an investment of ₹562.5 crore. This project is expected to be operational within 18 months. GRIDCO managing director Satyapriya Rath highlighted the dual benefits of AgriPV, which aims to enhance farm incomes while supporting climate adaptation. The initiatives reflect Odisha's commitment to sustainable energy development and climate-resilient growth.
