In a remarkable incident, police in Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, recovered ₹4 lakh (approximately $4,800 USD) in cash found scattered on the Meerut-Karnal highway. The money, consisting of six bundles of ₹500 notes, four bundles of ₹200 notes, and two bundles of ₹100 notes, was reported by a local resident near Kabaraut village on Friday. Upon investigation, police identified Shubham, a resident of Muzaffarnagar district, as the rightful owner. He explained that the cash fell from his motorcycle while he was returning home after withdrawing it from a bank in Karnal, Haryana. On Saturday, police returned the money to him. Additionally, the local resident who reported the cash will be rewarded for his honesty, as confirmed by Shamli Superintendent of Police Narendra Pratap Singh.
