During the Janjati Sanskritik Samagam at Red Fort, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed tribal communities, assuring them that there is no reason to fear the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He emphasized that the UCC will not interfere with tribal customs and that specific exemptions will be made for them. Shah claimed that misinformation is being spread to create fear about the UCC, which aims to standardize personal laws across religions in India. He noted that the UCC has already been implemented in BJP-ruled states like Uttarakhand and Gujarat, but tribal communities have been kept exempt from its provisions. Shah encouraged participants to disseminate this message in their villages and forests. Additionally, he discussed the government's achievements in eradicating Naxalism, stating that it has hindered tribal development and led to the deaths of over 40,000 tribal members. He asserted that it is now time for the development of tribal regions.
