FX is set to adapt Jeffrey Eugenides's acclaimed novel, The Marriage Plot, into a limited series featuring Sadie Sink, known for her role in Netflix's Stranger Things. Sink will not only star but also serve as an executive producer for the project. The series was officially announced on June 4, 2023, by FX Entertainment president Gina Balian, who emphasized the show's ambition and character-driven storytelling. The narrative follows three recent college graduates as they navigate themes of love, adulthood, and intellectual ambition. Eugenides, in discussing his novel, highlighted the evolving nature of romantic narratives and the protagonist's struggle to reconcile her intellectual understanding of love with her emotional experiences. While Sadie Sink is the only cast member confirmed so far, FX has yet to disclose the character she will portray or the rest of the ensemble. As of now, a premiere date for The Marriage Plot remains unannounced.
