Tripura has launched a significant initiative to develop its Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) sectors by organizing a stakeholder consultation in Agartala. This event aimed to gather insights from senior government officials, industry leaders, and academic experts to shape the draft AVGC-XR Policy, which is designed to enhance creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship within the state. Kiran Gitte, the Secretary of Information Technology, highlighted the advancements in Tripura's IT landscape and the importance of the new policy in fostering a vibrant AVGC-XR ecosystem. The policy emphasizes talent development, industry participation, and content creation, aiming to generate employment opportunities and promote entrepreneurship. The consultation also featured expert presentations and discussions on the evolving media landscape, showcasing the entrepreneurial journeys of local founders. By synergizing with existing policies like the Tripura Startup Policy 2024 and the Tripura Cybersecurity Policy 2025, the government aims to position Tripura as a leading AVGC-XR destination in Northeast India, contributing to inclusive economic growth.
