The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the Philippines is preparing to launch the 'Tara, Basa!' tutoring program in the Calabarzon region, which includes Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon provinces. Training for college students commenced online from April 13 to 17, 2024, with the aim of equipping them to serve as tutors for incoming Grade 2 pupils or as youth development workers assisting parents. A total of 1,673 college students from partner state universities and local colleges will participate in the program this year.
